PointsBet Illinois has opened its 4th retail sportsbook at Crazy Pour Sports Bar in Villa Park, Illinois, now a part of the Hawthorne Race Course Network. PointsBet teamed up with Hawthorne OTB (Off Track Betting) back in 2019, and the Club Hawthorne retail shop in Villa Park adds to its Hawthorne Race Course, Club Hawthorne in Crestwood, and Club Hawthorne in Prospect Heights properties. PointsBet USA CEO Johnny Aitkin is excited about the breaking news;

“With a full roster of NFL playoffs, NBA, and NHL games, we couldn’t be more excited to be offering a new destination for Illinois sports fans to enjoy and bet on their favorite sports. The PointsBet Retail Sportsbook is part of PointsBet’s continued efforts to expand our footprint in a key state like Illinois, and we’re thrilled to be able to provide the Illinois sports community with another premier location that caters to both sports fans and bettors – and everyone in between,” Johnny Aitken, CEO of PointsBet USA, said.

The new retail shop resides in the Crazy Pour Sports Bar, and sports bettors and patrons alike can enjoy the many amenities the new Villa Park location provides;

  • More than 160 high-resolution TVs
  • A 26-foot-wide high-definition screen
  • Five 160-inch higher-resolution TVs
  • An LED sports ticker
  • Rooms for VIPs and private parties
  • Heated patio
  • Seating for up to 400 people
  • A full-service kitchen with more than 150 food and drink options
  • Video slots

Sports bettors won’t have difficulty placing a wager as the shop will have three live windows and eight self-serve kiosks available from 10 am to 9 pm Monday through Friday and 9 am to 9 pm on the weekends.

“There’s nowhere else in Chicagoland where you can bet on sports, horse racing, and video slots,” said Tim Carey, CEO of Hawthorne Race Course. “Only Club Hawthorne betting bars have it all. We’re building an integrated on-site entertainment experience with great food and drinks and excellent service for the next generation of sports fans.”

The fourth PointsBet retail option allows bettors another venue to wager on instate college basketball teams – Illinois gambling laws strictly prohibits wagering on instate Illinois college sports using online sportsbooks. The Villa Park addition should help PointsBet’s retail operation grow from the 4th most profitable of the nine Illinois retail sportsbook operators.

PointsBet partners with Hawthorne for its online sports betting ventures – The IL sportsbook handled $1.3 billion in wagers since September 2022, good for 4th in the state.
