About Wind Creek Chicago
As mentioned above, Wind Creek Chicago opened in November 2024. The Illinois casino is home to more than 1,400 slot machines, as well as a poker room, a sportsbook, and several high-limit areas.
Wind Creek’s casino properties are owned and operated by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, a federally recognized tribe. The Band holds a license from the Illinois Gaming Board, which approved Wind Creek’s status to operate ahead of the November 11 grand opening.
Away from the gambling areas, Wind Creek guests can stay at the hotel, relax at the spa, go for a swim at the indoor pool, work out at the fitness center, or take in a meal at any of the fine and casual dining restaurants throughout the facility.
Note: the hotel, fitness center, pool, and spa are scheduled to open in 2025. Wind Creek prioritized opening the gambling space before completing construction on additional amenities.
Currently, Wind Creek Chicago Casino is open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 AM daily. However, once construction is completed, it could operate as a 24-hour facility.
In addition to the Chicago Southland location, Wind Creek’s U.S.-based operations include three casinos in Alabama (Atmore, Montgomery, and Wetumpka), one in Pennsylvania (Bethlehem), and one in Florida (Miami). Visitors to any property can take advantage of the Wind Creek Rewards Program, where players earn Tier Points redeemable for food credits, game/table reservations, bonus plays/credits, VIP/valet parking, no-fee check cashing, access to the lounge, and much more!
Is there sports betting available at Wind Creek Chicago?
No, IL sports betting is not available at Wind Creek Chicago, but that will change in early 2025. Sports gamblers will soon be able to place their wagers at the Wind Creek Sportsbook, though the betting area was not ready to go at the same time as the casino opening.
Once the sportsbook space is completed, Wind Creek Sportsbook is expected to have both staffed betting windows and self-service betting stations (kiosks). Guests will also be able to enjoy the full-service restaurant and bar while watching the games play out on the massive TV screens throughout the venue.
Wind Creek operates a casino app, but there is no sports betting component of the application at this time. It is unclear whether this will be added in the future or if a separate sportsbook app will launch.
Wind Creek Chicago and Kambi partnership
To help the sports betting platform function more smoothly following the launch, Wind Creek Chicago partnered with the Kambi Group, which will provide the software necessary to operate the betting platform.
In addition to the betting kiosks, Kambi will allow casino patrons to “Bring Your Own Device,” which will allow users to craft their tickets before approaching a betting window or kiosk. From there, gamblers will scan a QR code or barcode to automatically process their ticket and get their bets in more quickly.
In a press release, Kambi alluded to a “multi-year partnership” with Wind Creek Chicago Southland, though it did not specify how many years or the cost of the deal.
